Road Warrior Hawk, dead at 45
Road Warrior Hawk (Michael Hegstrand) passed
away in the early hours of this morning.  He was 45.
No further details are available at this point. Hegstrand
formed one half of the world's most famous tag-team
"The Road Warriors," with Joseph Laurinaitis (Animal).

The Road Warriors were my favorite tag team as I grew up as a young kid watching wrestling in the late 70's. I have fond memories of wacthing them in the ring. Most memorable nite was watching them in the ring in person for the first time, was in San Francisco, Ca. (Cow Palace). It was a Pre-"Great American Bash". It was the Road Warriors  Vs.  Nikita & Ivan Koloff in a double russian chain match!  That was so awesome to watch! My memories of this greatest tag team of all time will never be forgotton. During this time, the Road Warriors were working in WJ (World Japan Wrestling) Promotion. There will never be a tag team as great as the Road Warriors.

My deepest sympathies go out to his family and friends. And especially my sympathies go to Animal, after losing his best friend/ best tag partner/ his brother in Christ! This has been a sad day for professional wrestling.
